Leavenworth City offices and the Riverfront Community Center will be closed Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day. Trash will be delayed one day throughout the week of May 25-29.
There will be no curbside large item pick-up the week of May 26-30. The next opportunity for curbside large item pick-up is the week of June 1-5.

Looking to start a career in law enforcement? On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 8 a.m. we will be having a job fair at the Justice Center for anyone interested in becoming a police officer. On this day, you'll be able to take the physical agility test, the written test, complete your first interview, and complete the criminal history proportion of the hiring process.
At the April 28 City Commission meeting, a bid was awarded to local construction company Sands for sidewalk improvements to Pottawatomie Street from Second Street to Fourth Street.
The project will include sidewalk repair and replacement work, ADA compliant ramps, curbs and drive entrances along the north and south sides of Pottawatomie Street.
