Detached Structures
On May 1, 2020, the City of Leavenworth adopted the 2018 International Code.
The City of Leavenworth does not require a Business license or Contractors license for General Contractors

A detached structure is a structure that is not attached to the primary residence or building. Permits and inspections are required of these structures. Land Disturbance Permits may be required for any dirt work that is over 100 square feet. A Letter of Intent must be submitted that includes the address, date, homeowner's name, and signature. Please contact us with any questions.
Detached Structures include but are not limited to:
Detached Garage
Shed(greater than 120 square feet)
Lean-to
Pergolas
Carports
Pole Barns
Miscellaneous Structures (greater than 120 square feet)
Inspection includes:

Footings that are required must be a minimum of 36" in depth and 12" in width
Framing

A site plan is an aerial view of the property that shows your property boundaries, the house, and other significant structures.
