Park History:

The land was the first park purchased by the City of Leavenworth when it was purchased in 1865. Additional land was acquired and the park was dedicated in 1870. The park was originally named Union Park. The name was later changed to 5th Avenue Park and it was re-named Union Park when it was renovated in 2000. The Master Gardeners secured a grant to renovate the park in 2000, which included installing new lights, a new fountain, benches, and landscaping.
