When Melissa was 8 years old, she started music lessons here with Don Raymond, a local jazz guitar player. He taught her for many years. 

The Tune Shop was founded by Robert and Shirley Cowan in 1960 as The Toon Shop. In 2003, the Cowans sold the business to Eric Rathburn and Abigail Ahrens, who manage it to this day with their friendly staff of music professionals. 

The Tune Shop boasts a stable of 22 Teachers who teach 250 students, with nine lesson studios, a large selection of band and combo instruments and a complete repair facility.
