Memorial Day 2026 events and City closures

Leavenworth City offices and the Riverfront Community Center will be closed Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day. Trash will be delayed one day throughout the week of May 25-29.
There will be no curbside large item pick-up the week of May 26-30. The next opportunity for curbside large item pick-up is the week of June 1-5.
Wollman Aquatic Center will be open 1 p.m. Monday May 25 for its first operating day of the summer 2026 season, weather permitting. Visit our website to learn more information about the outdoor summer pool: https://www.leavenworthks.gov/parksrec/page/wollman-aquatic-center
During the summer of 2026, the indoor pool at the Riverfront Community Center will close for repairs.
There will be two Memorial Day ceremonies at our nearby National Cemeteries:
- Leavenworth Memorial Day Committee is hosting a ceremony 9 a.m. May 25, 2026 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road. https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/Leavenworth.asp
- The Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery will host a ceremony at 11:40 May 25, 2026. https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/FtLeavenworth.asp Visitors will need to request a pass to enter Fort Leavenworth, which should be done online in advance here - https://pass.aie.army.mil/steps/branch_selectio
- Greenwood Cemetery at 15th and Limit is hosting a Memorial Day event 1 to 3 p.m. May 24. There will be no special activities but the cemetery gate will be open and those interested can walk the grounds.
