Labor Day holiday closures, trash delay for 2025

Leavenworth City offices and the Riverfront Community Center are closed Monday, Sept. 1 for the Labor Day holiday.

Trash collection will be shifted one day later than usual throughout the week. For example, if your trash is normally collected on a Monday, it will be collected on a Tuesday instead. This one-day shift will apply to all subsequent collection days within the week as well.

There will be no curbside large item pickup the week of Sept. 1-6.

Free First Saturday, a disposal event, is taking place Sept. 6. This event is an opportunity for residents to utilize the City’s services with no additional fees. There will be dumpsters available for large-item disposal from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 6 at the Municipal Service Center’s back entrance on Lawrence and Pennsylvania Avenues.

Wollman Aquatic Center’s last day for the season is Monday, Sept. 1.

The Leavenworth Parks and Recreation Labor Day Pickleball Tournament is a one day event on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
