The City of Leavenworth and the Leavenworth Fire Department will host an Open House 10:30 a.m. July 20  to mark the opening of the new Fire Station No. 3 at 2805 2nd Avenue. The public is invited to join elected officials, city staff and the Leavenworth Fire Department to celebrate with a fire hose uncoupling ceremony and tours of the new station.

The original Station No. 3 at this location was constructed in 1965.  It served the Leavenworth community for 60 years.

The new Fire Station 3 was completed in 2026 at a cost of roughly $5.5 million. The nearly 9,500 square-foot facility includes 3 apparatus bays to house the Engine, Battalion Chief office and several reserve apparatus. Its design is focused on addressing the occupational stress and safety of firefighters. The new station also features a fitness facility, space for personal time and peer support, dedicated decontamination area to mitigate risk associated with exposure to hazardous materials and sleeping quarters designed to promote sleep and reduce environmental disturbances. City leadership and contractors say these measures will improve firefighter health and well-being and have a positive effect on the delivery of service.
